Coffee Machine Review Rancilio Silvia

How do you know which coffee machine to choose? Do you want a machine that is fully manual or semi automatic.

In this article we will review the Rancilio Silvia and it's unique features and benefits.

Our range of European coffee machines are made in Italy or Spain, they are all of the best quality and made with commercial components. These are robust machines that will give you years of use and produce fantastic cafe' quality coffee.

Rancilio Silvia V4

The Rancilio Silvia is one of the best machines on the market, it is the domestic version of the commercial espresso machine used in many cafes. A fully manual machine that requires skill to use. You will need a good burr grinder for this machine as it requires very fine grind coffee, supermarket coffee is not fine enough as it is ground for general use. You can order pre-ground coffee that has been ground for a Rancilio Silvia, this can be ordered from most local roasters or online. This machine does require some trial and error loading the tamper with the correct dose, tamping and extracting. We can recommend a barista course and there are many tutorials on YouTube.

The Rancilio Silvia is a machine that is well known and highly regarded, it has many good reviews and is a favourite amongst home baristas.

It does need to be primed after every use of the steam wand, the water doesn't automatically go into the boiler, it is simple to prime, just run water through the steam wand or through the group head. It only takes a few seconds but is necessary to avoid boiler burn out.

The Rancilio Silvia is designed and made in Italy.
